Gear Hire

Free gear hire for members!

Whether you're heading outdoors for the first time or you're a seasoned climber without your own kit, the UC Climbing Club has you covered. We offer a wide range of climbing equipment free of charge to all current members

How does it work?

To request gear, simply message the UC Climbing Club Facebook page with the following details:

• What gear you need

• When you need it

• What it’s for (e.g., club trip, personal trip)

The Gear Officer will get back to you to confirm availability and arrange pickup.

Note: Gear hire is not guaranteed and is subject to:

• Club trips taking priority

• Availability of gear

• Approval by the Gear Officer

Safety and Responsibility

Gear will only be loaned to individuals who are confident in using it safely and correctly. It is up to each person to honestly assess their own ability and experience. If you're unsure, please come along to one of our intro or instruction sessions.

The UC Climbing Club takes no responsibility for the misuse of gear or any incidents resulting from its use.

While our gear is regularly checked and maintained, it is the individual user's responsibility to assess the condition and safety of any equipment before use.

Please treat our gear with care so others can enjoy it too!

If any gear is damaged, lost or showing signs of wear please let us know via the UC Climbing Club Facebook ASAP
